Signage graphics and markings templates (.eps) and example files (.jpg) are available for download here. For specifications, placement guidance, and additional standards, please refer to Appendix H: Design Guidelines and Standards, Chapter 8 of the San Gabriel Valley Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan. Before using the templates, we recommend reviewing the introductory chapters of the guidelines to understand their purpose and intended application. The templates use Barlow, an open-source typeface available for free on Google Fonts.

Example .pdf files help to show what a completed sign template could look like. Content will vary by sign and location.

Please note that use of these templates does not exempt a project from following applicable laws for a specific site or project. For example, wayfinding signs within most public road rights-of-way must comply with the latest Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) guidelines. Professional signage consultants, landscape architects, architects, graphic designers, and other designers can assist project teams in navigating use of the templates, guidelines, and applicable codes.

Each tributary has a unique color, which should be used as an accent within the wayfinding signage suite to help establish an authentic identity for each tributary, while acknowledging its part of the larger urban network.
